Wheee... The 24 hour comics are all up on the comicspace page www.comicspace.com/irish24hourcomics/
Go check them out, if even just to see what a particular bunch of loonies thinks is a good idea, sitting in a strange room scribbling for 24 hours while slowly watching your mind leak out your ears. People have been locked up for less!
Thanks again to Cliodhna for organising the whole thing and getting all the stuff co-ordinated and up on de web.

Giggling like a loon
Okidoki, yet again, it's been a while.....
Loads of nice things have happened in the meantime though.
First up, Dublin City Comic Con which was on a couple of weekends ago and everyone from Longstone Comics rocked up.
Good fun, met lots of new people, lovely!
Got an absolutely great drawing of Marcus Fenix from Liam 'Gears' Sharpe, what a lovely guy.
I want a shed to draw in, in my back garden too.
Picked up loads of small press comics, thanks to everyone for doing swops!
Especially tickled to get my hands on Paddy Lynchs 'In The Aquarium', Philip Barretts 'Matter#7' and really like being surprised by what Katie Blackwood comes up with, 'The Elephant & The Top Hat' is a little piece of magic.
Well, we all survived but ended fairly knackered and smiling.
Then earlier this week, a lovely surprise. Got word from Al Nolan that a bunch of small press comics got a mention on comicresources, including 'Found' and his latest edition of 'Sancho'. Wheee... here's the link,http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=18985 and under instruction from Al, I am giggling like a loon.

Slap!
Right! Big Slap due on right arse cheek for being utterly abysmal at updating this blog and Minnie's blog. Have been having a ridiculously busy time juggling work, the teenager, his mates, my best mate, her wedding... I've nearly forgotten what it feels like to hold a pencil.
Speaking of pencils, (which is what these blogs are supposed to be all about), did the 24 hr comic challenge thingy; got 24 pages done and bailed with half an hour to go. Ended up battling a nasty cold and having something at the end of my arm that resembled a mangled claw.
Big thanks to Cliodhna for organising the whole thing and will be much better prepared for next year.
Mine and everyone elses comics will be posted by Cliodhna in December.
In the meantime, a few pages...

Damn
Damn! but it's hard to find the time these days to keep doing all the stuff I like to do.
This blog has been sadly neglected of late, but that will hopefully be remedied soon.
For the moment I'll just use it for updates.
First up... myself and all the happy heads in longstone comics have been scribbling our fingers to the bone trying to get a comic together for Free Comics Day (Oct. 18th ) It's looking like it just might happen.
My bit is a daft little Minnie & Bubbles adventure. It would make more sense to mention this on Minnie's own blog, but she's in the middle of another story, and under advisement from Junior, I'm not messin' with the continuity.
My mate hilary has a new blog, www.superhilbo.blogspot.com Just started, very funny stuff!
Superhilbo and me are planning to give the 24 hour comic thingummy a go... Central Hotel, the same weekend as Free Comic Day. More details later, if we haven't chickened out.
Other than the upcoming few nutty weekends in October, the focus will be on the Dublin City Comic Con in November.
Argh... the stuff just won't draw itself,
Damn!

'Found' travels
Gosh! Slowly but surely word has been reaching me... 'Found' has now made it to London, New York and Helsinki. Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement!
Who would have thought such a thing might happen... not me, but life is full of surprises.

the next step
So, as and from yesterday, 'Found' is now available to buy from 'Comics' on the corner of Crow Street in Temple Bar. Beat a path to their door and buy them all! Forbidden Planet and Sub-City have samples, so hopefully they'll be in touch soon.
It's very strange but very good to have finally reached this point... Now 'Found' is out there, it's time to leave it and see what happens and move on to the next project.
Here's where I have to totally commit myself... if I say this now, there's no excuses... I'm doing it.
Have started preliminary sketches for a story written by Peter Loftus called 'Downpour'.
Peter has okayed the thumbnails so, Thunderbirds are go! Better go sharpen some pencils!
For more on Peter, check out Longstone link.

At Last....
Well here we are at last. Found has been published, I collected it this afternoon, literally hot of the presses..... A big thank you to everyone who has helped and been there at the different stages of getting this done and out there. Big thanks to everyone in Longstone Comics, but especially to Hilary, who kept me sane (sort of) and to Gavin who helped me over the final hurdle.... Hugs and beers on the way!
Found will be in good shops (the ones that sell comics) hopefully by this weekend... or if your mad keen to get your hands on one, mail me: puredaft@yahoo.com
Off now to sit and grin like an idiot... happy camper!

round 2
Been a bit of a lull after the first rush of enthusiasm... needed to pause.
Began a story on the 12th of June, somehow finished it on the 11th of July and then collapsed in a heap. Thankfully had a trip to Edinburgh with a couple of mates organised... scots wayhey, up yer kilt! Fantastic...Aye!
Enough, down to business... Am now in the throes of trying to get 'Found' printed but in the meantime here's the cover and page 1. That'll have to do while I attempt to wheel and deal and soil my soul trafficing with filthy lucre. Why is it that if I had more of it, it wouldn't seem so filthy?

getting the ball rolling
Right, and we're off.... finally found a name to go with.... hard when everything you like is gone because you've arrived late to the party...
Anyway, 'puredaft-delineavit' it is. Kinda tickled with it... puredaft...that's me, pretty self-explanatory.
'delineavit' translates as he/she drew (this)... which descibes what most of the content of this blog will be; gets in the classical reference, an area of interest I have taken delight in for years; and while used to accredit reputable paintings, drawings and sculptures, 'delineavit' was also scribbled on walls with graffiti.
Okay... now to go scribble something to post here.....
