Rain-Arse! Doodle for Dave
It's always good fun when your mates go on a minor rant that, amidst the smirking, causes a little lightbulb to spark up and there's nothin' for it but to get doodling.

Cards
Was commisioned recently to do a couple of cards. One for someone leaving their current position and one retirement.
One digitally coloured and then printed. The other, good old fashioned pen & ink and watercolour wash. (which of course didn't scan particularly well). Good fun mucking about with a paint brush though, hadn't done that in ages.

This is my first contribution to the Collective Thinking Blog. This month's theme was 'Incompetent Assassin'. Go check out the blog to see how it works and have a gander at everyone else's pics.

Biro Doodle 22/11/2010 - Robot
A biro doodle of a robot for Kevin from the Trinity Arts Workshop on comics.
He's making a very cool Art Book of robots with contributions from everyone he meets.

Dimension 5
This is 'Dimension 5', the story Gar Shanley and I submitted for 'October Anthology', the collection put together by Cliodhna Lyons for Irish 24 Hour Comics day.
When I eventually manage to scan my pages from the day I'll them post them.....soon.......soon-ish.

Biro Doodle 01/10/10
Messin' about with a black biro, making it up as I went along.
A lot of fun... think I'll be playing with biros some more.

The Full Monty
After a bit of a chat with Gar, we decided to put 'Some Blue Bloke' in it's entirety up on our respective blogs. 'Some Blue Bloke' had a limited print run of 50. While there are some left, Gar feels it would be a shame to deprive the world and future generations, so here we are, on the internet, for ever and ever and ever..... He has a doctors cert to confirm that he doesn't suffer from Hubris and it's not contagious anyway.

The Colour Version
This is the cover and 1st page of 'Some Blue Bloke', by Gar shanley and myself.
We'll be flinging it out into the world this weekend at Edition Book Arts.
Do meander by, for a truly unique afternoon.

Googley googley goo
Supposed to be drawing... got sucked in to the interweb...
several hours later, did this quick doodle.
However, I have now found a lot of lovely weekend-away destinations in ireland, and have also plotted my travel arrangements and accomodation for at least three trips abroad.
Now all I need is an indulgent boyfriend or comfortable lotto-win.

A loovial plane
This is a card that I've just done for a Geography teacher who's retiring,
preliminary doodles and a really crap photo of the finished thing.
Fun remembering the ol' school days and the grief we used to give teachers....
really, they're an amazing bunch. ( either that or they're misguided masochists).
I know I couldn't do it!

Dawn Chorus 2010
Every year, in conjunction with Bird Watch Ireland, people organise early morning walks to get up and out and hear the dawn chorus.
This is the poster I did for this years gathering in the college campus in Maynooth.
So, everybody, up at the crack of dawn to stagger blinking into the light... it'll be worth it!

Guiseppe Fatale
Ok, this is my favourite so far....
Guiseppe Fatale is an assassin, a hitman for hire.
He greatly admires Christopher Walken in True Romance. He wouldn't mind being described as 'part eggplant'.
Guiseppe is not a Sicilian, he's definitely not Italian; and his mates, especially Kate, don't think he's actually ever killed anyone.

New Look
Righto... Me 'n' my mate Hilary have been known to challenge ourselves to a doodle-a-day for a month. Being a sometime glutton for punishment, here goes another month of fun.
My doodle-a-day will appear on one or other of my blogs, depending on what I'm in the mood to doodle. (Being 'puredaft' I thought it was a good idea to have two blogs!)
To get the ball rolling... first post is a new profile pic. The above is the large/full version, for use on special occasions. The actual, everyday, version is off over to your right, knuckling down and getting on with what it's meant to do.

Longstone Comic Volume 4-Cover
This is the cover of the next Longstone comic which should be out shortly.
This is also another tentative foray into the completely digital way of doing things. Didn't look at a piece of paper, never mind pick up an actual pencil. Have to say, a bit of a head melt keeping track of everything, but wow, the digi-thing is fast. This took about seven hours, mostly because of the magic that is 'Ctrl Z'!
Oh, the illo is to do with one of the stories in the comic (obviously), but not saying anything because that would spoil the reading pleasure! : )
